A well renowned air-conditioning expert with over 35 years of experience. A Mechanical engineer from Delhi College of Engineering and an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur, Mr Mahindra is credited with launching the first small AC in India at Shriram Air-conditioning in 1994. As one of the Founding Directors, Mr Mahindra was instrumental in setting up Daikin Shriram Air-conditioning – a joint venture between Shriram and Daikin, Japan in the year 2000. He continued to play key role in growth of the company after it became 100% subsidiary of Daikin, Japan in 2004.
Mr. Mahindra opted to be Advisor of Daikin India in 2007 and was entrusted with the responsibility of setting up state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Neemrana with an investment of over Rs.350 crores.
An active member of RAMA (Refrigeration & Air conditioning Manufacturers Association), Mr Mahindra is on various government panels and committees for implementation of country’s obligations under Montreal Protocol on Ozone Layer Protection, evaluation of technologies for adoption of low global warming refrigerants, energy labeling of appliances, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with other countries, etc.

A B.E (Mechanical) hons. from IIT Roorkee 1978 batch, Mr Popli has been associated with home appliances sector ever since. Throughout his illustrious career spanning over 3 decades across various facets of appliances business like air-conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, water coolers, water dispensers, etc. , Mr Popli has been a game changer.
In his last role as Assistant General Manager with Voltas Ltd. at Chandigarh, he was instrumental in increasing Voltas’s market share from 5% to 20% in North India. A highly recognized and respected people’s man Mr Popli led a team that brought 800% turnover growth, inducted 230+ channel partners into the Voltas family, and in fact transformed the way appliances business was managed in North.
Some of his initiatives were picked and successfully implemented nationally by the company.
